1~

Now I have to miss few months. Will jump to the last two days. We had in-house training session and I had to prepare for that. Now the program was organized by my manager but then I was suppose to prepare all things in the company and make materials ready for participants. Anyways, making copies, binding and making IDs was not the hard part. The hard part was when I wanted them in the company to prepare the meeting room with me. They made it very clear that it is not their job to help me. I asked the logistic guy who actually made all the flight and hotel arrangement for guests to arrange for lunch he said I will do it for you the first day as a favour but it is not my job and you have to do it yourself. Last year when we had training in-house HE was responsible for that but because a higher authority asked him he didn't say it is not my job, I wasn't in charge at that time. EVEN the tea-boy when I asked him to provide water bottles he said you can ask cleaning boys to bring you what you want just pay for them. I felt like left alone :( but this was my first training to organize and it was very important for me to execute it perfectly! so i did what I had to do .. last two days were stressful but training went well and all were happy Alhumdullah :)

At the end of the second day I went to see my manager because he wasn't there in the office first day. I told him how successful training was and that next time he plan a training in such a short time he should give me a budget. I expressed how mad I was about all of this. He was so calm and said this was a test for me to see how I would handle things.

During the training we took some pictures and participants asked me if I can send it to them. I told them that I would include those pictures in the newsletter and send it after the second training session next week which is for different group but the same content. Having that said, I should start designing this newsletter. Why am I creating one? Because we were suppose to have one for the whole division news coming from marketing support lady, who joined the company in December 2013. But whenever I ask her she reply that she has too much to do and this will have to wait. Hence I have decided to have a separate newsletter for Continuous Improvement Department. This marketing lady if I talked about her it would take me days. She is a bit weird!

Introduction!

It has been a VERY long time since I blogged anything. But what brought me back is that I needed a private space for ME with no one judging or giving lectures and advices about what to do. I just want to let it all go! This need came after I had this new career.

It all started when I got this phone call from a friend of mine. She asked me if I want to get a job in HR department in a good company! At that time a just had a diploma in HR and was excited to work in that field. After few days a lady called me from this company to schedule an interview appointment. It went well .. but then I didn’t hear from them for two weeks!
I called to see if they still have me as a candidate, they said that the position I was interviewed for is taken but there is another one in supply chain if I am interested. Truth is I know nothing about supply chain L yet I went for the department head interview. The interview is not bad but I couldn’t understand his personality. I was fine with that after all I am going to be working with someone else not him directly. SO I took this job in clearance. At the same time there was a girl recruited for export. We shared the same office and we became close friends. Life in that department was HELL. There was no order in anything. Manager is just shouting when he is around. And he always calls my friend to teach her (as he claim) but he actually talk for hours with her about stuff other than the work. She left work after 6 months and that when he told her that he really admires her and he wants to contact her after she leaves. It wasn’t a shock to me his behaviour was showing it all. I am just giving a brief with no details because it would take me days to write everything. In her final days in the company I decided to leave as well. After all I stayed in there because she was a good friend and I didn’t want to lose her, and my supervisor was a very nice guy. But now she is leaving why would I stay? Salary was not bad but could have more for the hours I am working. I told my friend in HR (we became friends J ) that I intended to leave. She told me that there is an open vacancy for a position in another department but if I was to apply for it I have to say nothing about her telling me about it. It was marketing support thing. I had some experience in that but I didn’t apply. After a while she called me saying that the Division manager wanted to interview me right away. This interview was in my friend’s office since she is the deputy of HR manager. And there was also HR manager and the DM. Now this DM is British and he is the manager of Supply Chain manager. I was excited because he actually offered me that marketing position. What happened is that he couldn’t find a good candidate so HR recommended me to him. Even though that I wanted that job but I told him somehow that I need to think about the offer and will get back to him in two days. I was surprised from my reaction but it was for the best. Because after I said that he told me he has another position and started telling my about this continuous improvement role and how it is new to the division but he would like to have someone who is dedicated. Now that I have accepted with no second thought. Basically because I worked in a dynamic and very important department, supply chain, and I noticed how there are so many thing that need to be improved. And I got the job!
